No Time...worlds best excuse?

How can some one have no time?

There is so much to be done..everyone has to do something or the other and everything demands time. Its very easy to excuse ourselves with a " No time" when we know we havent done things which we could have. There is no time to catch up with friends, but there is time to crib about office, managers, peers and work - many of my friends are in IT industry and to be frank IT is never really demanding. It looks demanding when we fear that we might not be able to complete the assigned task for a string of reasons (primary reason being - no adequete skill set which is hard to digest and hence has to be covered with some extra time at office)

There are people who are busy always - now this is a classical example of the above mentioned statement, but who would want to admit it? Its a question of competance, i am incompetant? NO WAY..i work so hard, how can i be incompetant?

Another set of people are the ones who want everything to happen- but wont move an inch to act on those, you talk to them you would know " Its been so long since we met" . I feel like laughing most of the times, who is stopping you from meeting dude?

Who wants to take the pain in driving for 10 mins to meet a friend who is no longer the closest he was. I had a huge circle of friends in my school, college,Allsec and Infosys - I can clearly see that the opportunity to get in touch with Infosys friends are huge because of the facilities we have (chat, mail, phone, apart from other stuff) but unfortunately barring a few friends , the remaining have turned dormant. I have tried to call them, they are:

1. always busy

2. always have a delivery this week

3. away now, will call you back

4. always in a meeting

I have always felt that when someone doesnt give respect to your time, dont deserve it either. I have stopped calling people who i think have acted for long enough. Its been close to 4 years in the IT industry and i am happy to say that friends whom i made prior to Infosys are still the same where as friends who i made at Infy are almsot dead - for no reason.

There can never be "No Time" for anything, leave alone friends.

Rajesh,

It is amazing to know how well you write. Simple words but strong rationale and facts supporting the prima facie idea when we read the first time. Some of the ideas are new and excellently placed. You must consider continuing and writing a lot.

Some time, in later part of your life, ,consider compiling and publishing in print media too..

I know some of the ideas are not my type, but still they are very impressive and reasonable. Good work and please keep it up!!!
